Classification of nylon wheels

Update:2022-09-26

Nylon wheels can be mainly classified into two categories: superimposed wheels and take-up wheels. The superimposing wheel is made of industrial white cleaning cloth by a roller glue coating method, and the glue contains a binder and an abrasive, and the coating is stacked one by one and then baked and cured in an oven, and finally punched.

The take-up roller is also coated by the same method, rolled up into a rod on a special die, and baked and solidified. But now many manufacturers, in order to save costs, casters made of plastic materials are called nylon wheels, the price of nylon is more than double that of plastic, so the price of the two is very different. The casters made of plastic materials are very similar to nylon wheels in terms of color and appearance, and they can even be said to be the same. Based on cost-saving considerations, some dealers only value the price and not the quality. Plastic wheels can be used for some machines that are not very heavy, but for some heavy machinery, many quality problems have occurred. Generally, the color of the finished nylon wheel is light yellow or milky white. Because nylon is a polymer, it has high mechanical strength and can reach the strength of metal materials.

The simple identification method is to smash it with a hammer to see how hard it is. If the wheel is hard enough, then it is a nylon wheel, otherwise it is a plastic wheel.
